Bureau Zaha Hadid Architects was appointed to design the building U 2008.

"The design of skyscrapers dissolves the classic typology of the tower and the podium into a seamless piece," said Zaha Hadid then. "Design shamelessly aims to stimulate the vision of the possibilities apaczka for the future while maintaining the history of the institution."
"I am delighted to work again in Hong Kong," said Hadid, when the Polytechnic University chose the designer. "The city has such a diversity in its landscape and history. This is reflected in urban stratification and porosity. Our own research architecture of seamless fluidity follows this paradigm that is so evident apaczka in Hong Kong."
"One of our original project was done for this city exactly 25 years ago, a project of the tower to the Polytechnic University is only the realization of continuous research," she added.
