Many of the most inspiring documents are linked strongly to a date. The United States Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776, Charter 77 emerged in January 1977; Dogme 95 was created in 1995. The ideas are transformed and developed over time. This manifesto represents a snapshot of our ideas, visions for the future, and what we have learned so far about learning and education. This text serves as a benchmark to help us understand how we have done things so far, and what actions need to take next.
In a world consumed by uncertainty dx courier and a sense of obsolescence of our education systems, how can we ensure our success as individuals, our communities and the planet? We need to develop dx courier education.
"The future is already here - it's just not evenly distributed" dx courier (William Gibson in Gladstone, 1999). The field of education takes considerable delay compared to other industries, even more because of our tendency dx courier to look backward, not forward. We teach history of literature, for example, but not the future of writing. We teach historically important mathematical concepts, but we do not engage in creating new mathematics needed to build the future. Moreover, all the "revolutionary" learning happens and has happened in different dx courier scales of a few and in pieces, in different places. The full impact for us and our organizations will take place as we develop the courage to learn from the experiences of others, and accept the risk and responsibility for implementing future orientation of our practices. dx courier
1.0 Schools can not teach children 3.0. We need to redefine and build a clear understanding that we are educating, and why we do it, and who serve our education systems. Compulsory trend "mainstream" school is based on an outdated model of the eighteenth century that seeks to create citizens with the potential to become loyal, productive factory workers and bureaucrats. In the post-industrial era, it should not be the ultimate goal of education. We need to support learners to become innovators, able to use their own imagination dx courier and creativity to generate new results in society. We must do it, because dx courier today's challenges can not be solved by the old way of thinking. And, we are all co-responsible for creating the future with positive results that benefit all people in the world.
Children are people too. All students must be treated with respect as humans and recognized for their universal human rights and their responsibilities beings. This means that students must take an active dx courier part in the elections concerning their learning, including how their schools are run, how and when to learn, and all other areas of everyday dx courier life. This is a real inclusion. Students should be given the freedom to seek educational opportunities and different approaches for which appropriate to their learning, while their decisions do not violate the freedom of others to do the same (adapted from EUDEC, 2005).
There is an extraordinary emotion to jump off a cliff, when you decide for yourself. This emotion not ever have if someone pushes you to do so. In other words, dx courier the model teacher-student learning top-down does not maximize learning because devouring curiosity and removes the intrinsic motivation. We need to cover horizontal, flat and distributive learning approaches; including peer learning and peer teaching, and empower students to make real practices of these modes of learning. Educators dx courier have to create a space that allows students to determine: when, how or if it will jump the cliff. Failure is a natural part of this learning, because dx courier you can always try again. In an environment of horizontal learning the teacher's role is to help the student to take an informed and responsible decision. Failure is fine, but the educational system can not create failures.
No value what we measure, dx courier measure what we value. dx courier In examining our obsession, somehow we have allowed the OECD to become the "minister of education in the world", through the regime of PISA, the cult of educational measurement is expanding around the world. On a national level, state to state, dx courier it is as if compitiéramos for being the guy sobreadaptado monotonous and tedious family. Worse, Our Troops
